About Dr. Shang...
Dr. Xiaoli Shang, L.Ac, Ph.D. is Nationally Board Certified with the NCCAOM, and New York State Licensed.  She is a graduate of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, an area of China renowned for highly experienced, academic Acupuncturists.  Her knowledge and techniques of Acupuncture began in an authentic Chinese Acupuncture environment.  Dr. Shang's father became interested in traditional medicine and took scholarly steps toward self education.  One of the only children in his family to attend college, Dr. Shang's father became educated on the medicine, studying herbal medicine, Acupressure and Acupuncture, refining his knowledge with many years of hands on practice, ultimately transferring his knowledge to his daughter, Dr. Shang, ensuring her acceptance at the University. 

The true essence of this remarkable familial tradition was upheld when Dr. Shang's mother also took interest in the medicine and pursued Acupuncture and Pediatric Hand Acupressure.  The techniques of her mother were handed down to Dr. Shang who honors the opportunity her parents have given her.  What more can children ask for than the true heritage of parent's knowledge useful to the quality of life we all strive for?

Dr. Shang continues her heritage with certifications from experts, developing unique understandings of the way in which Acupuncture truly works.  With a strong commitment to Traditional Chinese Medicine, practicing since 1997, Dr. Shang focuses on Pain Management, Women's Issues, Allergies and Addictions, practicing in Pearl River, Rockland County, New York.
